WIND ENERGY

Wind energy

1887 saw the first industrially generated wind energy. The sophisticated technology needed to produce renewable energy is therefore technically mature. Wind energy production requires the least amount of space – which has a positive effect on the costs – and it is infinitely available. Unlike conventional power generation, there are neither carbon, particulate matter release nor nitrogen emissions. The energy requirement costs for production of the wind-power plant itself can be amortised within six months.

In 2011, almost 8%of the German power consumption was produced by wind energy. Overall the share of renewable energy compared to the total power consumption in Germany already represents more than 20%.

“Wind power plants provide stability and inflationary protection.”

Even in times of crisis, investments in wind power provide stability. In many countries electricity from wind power plants is particularly subsidised. The German EEG – a law to support renewable energy is regarded as a pioneer for controlling the feed-in-tariffs. It regulates a purchase commitment with fixed feed-in tariffs over a period of 20 years. Accordingly, all requirements for a secure and profitable investment are covered.
